Two days almost down....
I have had a great start at KODE. Yesterday, my first day, I learned the basics of the station. Where to send a fax, where my mailbox will be, how to log into my e-mail, what the phone number to the station is, a reiteration of 911. You know, the basics. Haha.
I spent the majority of my first day with a great lady from United Way. Valerie and I went to 9 of the 19 non-for profit agencies in Joplin. I was so excited to get a chance to network and meet those in this community who have chose to dedicate their lives to helping others. Isn't that a great way to start?
Today I learned how to edit the ole fashioned way of tape-to-tape. Yikes. I thought it would be harder, but the concept like all old things is pretty basic. (right ps!)
I went over and met the PR person for St. John's Hospital and joined the Young Leaders Society for the Joplin Chamber of Commerce.
Tonight I am going to the school board meeting at 7 p.m. to introduce myself and show that education is something that means a great deal to me.
Wow, look at me being all professional. ;0)
So far I'm off to a great start and I'm happy to say no snow!! (so far!)

Good for you Brian, you show them someone who came from digital editing, live chats and blogging to the stone age of news broadcasting.
