Bloggin' Memories...

This is cool. Nathaniel on Facebook pointed out that the link to my old blogs at WIBW still works...so for those of you who missed out on the last few here they are!

Renting Vs. Buying

We were talking the other night in the newsroom about why I keep getting all these new books mailed to the station. It dawned on me that I can't stand 'renting' a book from the library. I have to own the book that I'm reading. Odd I know. But I know several people like this. I think the number one reason is I don't want to feel rushed, secondly I like to see them on my book shelf and then there is the rare occurrence that I will read it twice....that' very rare.
With movies on the other hand I don't like to own them, instead rent. When I buy them they get scratched, lost, borrowed and never to be returned. I rarely watch a movie more than a couple times so it seems like a waste to buy em.
Hmmmm.....maybe I'm just weird. lol

Grandma, "Now that you're part time."

"Well now is a great time for you to be going back to school since you're working part time," my grandma said to me on the phone this afternoon.

"Part time," I questioned, "Grandma, I'm not part time," I answered.

"Well you know, now that you have a co-anchor she does half the work."

"Well yea, but I still work 40 hours a week."

"But it was harder at WIBW--so this is like half the time..." she chuckled, "You will have time to do both."

"This is why I love you," I said as we changed the subject.

Twilight

I bought "Twilight" the other night and am almost done with the book. Anyone else addicted to the series? Let me know what you think.
I'm ready for "New Moon"

What Ever Happened To?

I was just thinking....What ever happened to people just being nice to other people.
It took me about 15 minutes to get directions to the highway in Kansas City yesterday...No one would roll down their window to speak to me.
At fast food places, it's almost like they act like it's not their job to wait on you.
Everyone is so busy and so self absorbed. When did that happen?
When I was a kid, people were nice to others without expecting anything in return. People were willing to help. These days is it really too dangerous? Too uncertain? Is everyone really out for themselevs.
Do we pride ourseleves in cutting down and hurting other people.
Think back on what happened on my blog over the past few weeks...do we find satisfaction in trying to extort or hurt other people. Why have we become the society that we have become and how do we change it.
That is my question.

Back to School....

So I have made the decision to apply for graduate school. Now that I have a set schedule it is the perfect time for me to go back. I applied to Pitt State for Communication. I'm hoping to be accepted for the spring semester. I'm wondering how tough this is actually going to be. Lol. Anyone else work full time while going back to school?

Resolutions?

I didn't make any resolutions this year. Seems I can't stick to them. How about you??

Lazy Christmas!
